1. Citrix's Hidden Genius: Brad Pedersen on the Origins of Remote Computing

What if the story of remote computing began not with a massive enterprise rollout or flashy keynote—but with just seven engineers and one bold idea?

In an exclusive two-hour interview, Brad Pedersen—employee #7 at Citrix and the mastermind behind the iconic ICA protocol—joins Brad Peterson (yes, different spelling, equally sharp) to walk through the untold early days of Citrix. From the first product demos to licensing battles with Microsoft and the infamous “monkey ceremony,” the conversation is packed with insight, history, and lessons still relevant today.

Pedersen’s perspective is invaluable, especially as someone who was there from the beginning. His reflections on building something from the ground up resonate deeply with anyone who’s ever worked on an ambitious product. One standout piece of advice from Brad:

“Own your stack, create your intellectual property, don’t rely too much on others.”

That philosophy is one we live by at Dizzion. It’s part of the reason we continue to develop and refine our own Frame Remoting Protocol—purpose-built to deliver a secure, high-performance experience across clouds and user environments.

See the Frame Remoting Protocol in Action

Curious what that looks like in practice? Try Dizzion Frame now—no downloads, no long forms. Just enter your email and within 20 seconds, you’ll be working inside a fully running Dizzion-powered Windows desktop.

2. New Microsoft Azure NVadsV710 VMs: Highest CPU Clock Speeds, Excellent GPU Performance

Microsoft recently announced the General Availability of its NVadsV710 v5-series virtual machines (VMs)—a major upgrade to the NV lineup. These new VMs offer a cost-effective, high-performance blend of AMD Radeon V710 GPUs and AMD CPUs with clock speeds up to 4.3 GHz. We’ve been hands-on with the NVadsV710 throughout its pre-release phase, working closely with Microsoft Azure and AMD to provide feedback and performance insights. The result is a solid, versatile VM offering that expands GPU-backed options in the cloud—something we’re always excited to see more of.

If you’re curious how the NVadsV710 compares to AMD’s other GPUs (like the V620 or Mi25), or how it stacks up against NVIDIA options in terms of performance and price, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to share what we’ve seen firsthand.

This launch also ties directly into how we leverage AMD hardware at Dizzion. Our Frame Remoting Protocol is optimized for a wide range of environments, including these new AMD-powered VMs.

3. Mythbusters Demo GPU versus CPU

Sometimes the best explanations are timeless—and wildly entertaining.

This classic Mythbusters segment, sponsored by NVIDIA, remains one of the clearest (and most fun) demonstrations of the difference between CPUs and GPUs. If you've never seen it—or just need a good reason to rewatch—it’s well worth the 2-minute break.

🎥 Watch below and enjoy some brilliant marketing meets tech education.

4. Liquidware FlexApp – App Layering Demo & Training

Liquidware FlexApp is an application layering solution that detaches apps from the OS and delivers them on demand—streaming them directly to a user’s (virtual) desktop without requiring traditional installation.

This approach makes desktop environments lighter, faster, and easier to manage. Whether you’re using Citrix, VMware, or Dizzion Frame, FlexApp allows apps to be delivered when needed, with no need for full system rebuilds or persistent installs.

If you’ve never seen FlexApp in action, the demo video and training resources are worth a look.

5. Azure Landing Zones as Visio Diagrams

Azure Landing Zones offer a structured, best-practice framework for setting up cloud environments in Microsoft Azure. Think of them as blueprints: they guide organizations through secure, scalable architecture design—covering everything from networking and identity to governance and monitoring.

These diagrams are especially useful for teams looking to scale Azure operations without introducing chaos. A well-designed landing zone early on helps ensure long-term efficiency and compliance.

Bonus: Windows 10 to Windows 11, what is the impact nowadays?

With Windows 10 reaching end-of-life in October 2025, many organizations are facing the inevitable transition to Windows 11. But for those running VDI environments, the stakes are higher—performance, scalability, and resource consumption all come into play.

Our friends at GO-EUC took a deep dive into the real-world impact of this upgrade. Their research explores how Windows 11’s background services and visual enhancements may affect system performance—and what IT teams should be prepared for.

1. Tech Veteran Kevin Goodman on Building Startups, Cloud Innovation & The Future of IT

In this episode of New Rules of the Game, Kevin Goodman—co-founder of FSLogix and former AWS leader—shares a wide-ranging conversation about the evolution of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) into Desktop as a Service (DaaS), the success of FSLogix (which was later acquired by Microsoft), and the next wave of IT transformation.

Kevin breaks down how cloud computing, AI, and energy consumption are reshaping what’s possible—and what’s sustainable—in the modern tech stack. He explains why a simple “lift-and-shift” to the cloud often fails financially and warns that electricity availability may become the next major constraint on AI growth.

The episode also offers bold predictions and thoughtful career advice for IT professionals and students preparing for a future deeply shaped by automation and cloud-native technologies.

🎧 It’s a rich, insightful discussion between Brad and Kevin—definitely worth watching or listening!

2. The AI Wheel and AI 2027

Think you know AI? 🤔 Most don’t. The AI/ML Wheel breaks it down:

  • ✅ AI – Machines acting intelligent (virtual assistants).
  • ✅ Big Data – Massive data handling (predictive analytics).
  • ✅ ML – Learning from data (fraud detection).
  • ✅ Deep Learning – Neural networks in action (image recognition).
  • ✅ NLP – Machines understanding language (chatbots).
