Generic USB Redirection further expands Frame's support for USB peripheral devices, including advanced/specialty devices such as Bloomberg® keyboards!

In this blog we will demonstrate the seamless integration of Bloomberg multi-function keyboards within a Frame session via the Frame App. For those unfamiliar, Bloomberg keyboards are specialized devices used by financial services customers to interface with the Bloomberg Anywhere™ solution. The keyboard not only includes Bloomberg-specific function and menu keys, but also built-in speakers as well as an integrated biometric fingerprint scanner for multi-factor authentication into Bloomberg Anywhere.

Get Your Demo Setup

For these demos we are using a Bloomberg Starboard™ STB100 keyboard that is connected to a Windows 10 laptop. We are then accessing Bloomberg Anywhere, which is installed on our Frame virtual desktop (non-persistent, Windows 10) via the Frame App.

Demo #1 - Accessing Bloomberg Anywhere with Biometric MFA (Frame App)

In this first demo, we are accessing Bloomberg Anywhere using the built-in biometric fingerprint scanner for authentication with the Frame App.

Demo #2 - Accessing Bloomberg Anywhere with B-UNIT MFA (Web Browser)

For Bloomberg users who wish to access Bloomberg Anywhere running in Frame with just a web browser, the STB100 keyboard also functions well when used in conjunction with the Bloomberg B-UNIT device, which is a portable fingerprint scanner device.

Take Frame for a Spin

With Frame, our goal is to demystify and simplify virtual apps and desktops, making it easily accessible for end-users and administrators alike. We are very pleased to be able to now extend this solution to customers who require advanced USB devices such as Bloomberg keyboards.
